In downtown Gouville-sur-Mer, Virginie Coenen’s boutique is home to monotypes, jewelry, lamps, and more. At Ybertin’Art, each piece is a singular jewel set in a harmonious ensemble. “I have always been a creator,” says Virginie, who for 15 years has fashioned her artistic world with what she learned from Colette, her mother-in-law and engraver artist who became her mentor. She plays with materials, colors, and light, revealing a deep sensibility. After years of presenting in expos and markets, Virginie opened a pop-up boutique at the end of 2024. It was a runaway hit. “People kept asking where they could view my creations. The reception was so positive that I chose to stay put.” Ybertin’Art was born, featuring the creations of Virginie, Colette, and selected artists. From shopping bags in recycled oyster-farming mesh to metal flowers and decorative items, each piece is expertly showcased and accessibly priced.
