Laurence du Tilly
– Far from standardized interiors, Laurence du Tilly does not simply “deco- rate” spaces. She imagines a way of living: sensitive, harmonious and deeply personal interiors designed as aesthetic and emotional refuges. A former lifestyle stylist turned interior designer, she creates spaces that reveal both the soul of a home and the personality of those who live in it. For Laurence, decoration rarely begins with a trend. More often, it starts with a conversation, a family memory, a beloved armchair or a kitchen where people love to gather. “An interior is a reflection of ourselves,” she says. Before dedicating herself to interior design, Laurence worked in lifestyle magazines including Madame Figaro and Saveurs, creating culinary and decorative settings alongside photographers. In Paris, her own home gradually became a testing ground, often inspiring the same remark from visitors: “It feels so good here.” In 2013, when she moved to Normandy, she transformed that intuition into a true art of living. In Caen, she opened Chez Laurence du Tilly, a collection of guest apartments conceived as an intimate alternative to traditional hotels. Designed for resting, cooking, working or simply slowing down, these spaces quickly attracted clients seeking the same sense of balance and serenity in their own homes. Laurence naturally expanded into private interior renovation, guided by authenticity, harmony and a subtle sense of space. In 2025, she sold her Caen guesthouse and opened a showroom at the entrance of her family home in Colomby-Anguerny. There, she presents her furniture creations , tables, consoles, lighting and sculptural pieces, along with her favorite materials and refined tonal palettes. Her inspirations freely combine the 1970s, the 18th century, sacred art and tribal influences. “I like interiors that feel balanced, but never overly controlled. There must always be room for emotion.” Just steps from her home, L’Annexe, a cottage for four guests, extends Laurence du Tilly’s universe. Every detail reflects her warm and sensitive vision of home. For her, an interior should never feel like a showroom: “Nothing is more depressing than entering a beautiful place and feeling nothing.” Without imposing a style, she guides each client toward the emotions that transform a house into a true home. “When you feel good at home, you feel better with yourself, and with others too”
