After years of spectacular work to free the Mont from silting, building a dam, a ootbridge, and relocating the parking area, the French State decided to go even further by establishing a structure capable of oordinating, romoting, protecting, and enhancing this extraordinary site. Inspired by models such as the
Louvre, Versailles, and Chambord, the ational Public Institution of Mont Saint-Michel was born, under the supervision of the Ministries of Culture and Ecological Transition.
Its missions: to welcome the public under the best conditions, to protect the site in all its dimensions, landscape, heritage, and
environment, and to support its economic development, in a way that respects its niqueness. The EPN oversees numerous projects: visitor services, conservation
efforts, cultural outreach, visitor flow management, and relations
with local stakeholders. It also initiates innovative projects
combining sponsorship and partnerships to diversify its funding
and anchor the Mont in a modern dynamic.
