Rodolphe’s dream became real six years ago when he quit his career as a sales manager to open Maître Sarrasin in Dinard. His workshop produces buckwheat pancakes and crepes, and the adjoining boutique shows off the Breton grain in all its forms. At Maître Sarrasin, experience the ancestral craft of transforming buckwheat, Brittany’s trademark grain. Rodolphe and his team use the nutritious black harp variety, rustic and strong in flavour. They make galettes and crepes for nearby bakeries, cheesemongers and grocers, and their boutique offers buckwheat-based chips, caramels, chocolate, gingerbread, sweets, honey, flour and even whisky. Maître Sarrasin was awarded the prize in Artisanal Breton Excellence in 2022 and holds the label Eco-Challenge for its environmentally friendly practices.
