In Dinard, the Royal Émeraude is keeping the spirit of the belle époque alive with the charm of English hospitality. In a building dating from 1892, the hotel’s 47 rooms evoke grand journeys and seaside resorts with themes such as the Orient Express, emerging aviation, and transatlantic cruises. “Under the glass roof of the Darling bar, jazz evenings have become emble- matic of our hotel,” says Marc Scognamiglio, manager. They take place on the last Thursday and Friday of the month, and are often booked out. Enjoy house cocktails, sweet and salty treats to share, and the cozy ambiance of a seaside club. “We continue to develop our food service, which is still informal but very high quality,” Marc adds, with platters to share, daily specials, and small homemade dishes. Marc regularly joins the musicians, lending his vocals for the month’s live sessions. Each evening contributes to the unique experience of the Royal Émeraude between British elegance, ocean liner spirit, and seaside escape.
