In Beaumont-en-Auge, Franck Gouget’s bright workshop changes with the seasons without ever losing the thread. For nearly thirty years, the upholsterer–decorator has been customizing interiors between Paris and Normandy with passion and skill. Driven by a love of printed fabrics, Franck cuts, assembles, and staples with the support of Alexandra: “We do lots of cushions as well as bench seats for kitchens and entryways. It’s the heart of our business.” Orders pour in, proof that custom artisanal work is more relevant than ever. High-end fabric brands are now preferred partners, from Pierre Frey to Manuel Canovas and Casamance. “They had fallen out of style for a bit, but printed fabrics are coming back in a big way,” says Franck. In bold patterns and noble materials, textiles are finding their place again in modern interiors. Visit the workshop on weekdays, and by appointment on Saturdays.
