In Beaumont-en-Auge, Élodie Garamond and her brother, Nicolas Saltiel, have transformed a family home into a haven of peace and curiosity. Maison Mouche is not just a B&B; it’s a colorful place to rest, relax, and reunite, where past blends with present. “After a difficult loss, I came back to my grandparents’ village which I have known all my life,” says Élodie. One year later, she was selling at a flea market, and as luck would have it, her stand was placed just in front of a beautiful redbrick house for sale. It was love at first sight for the “superb, bright rooms with views on the rooftops of Beaumont and over the countryside.” Élodie and Nicolas named the five rooms (one of which is a suite) after insects and decked them out with furniture and thrifted finds. Come to sleep, live, write, read, shop the cafe–bookshop–greengrocery, practice yoga, or get a massage. At Maison Mouche, everything invites you to slow down and revel in a joyous nostalgia.
