Behind a discreet shop window in Trouville lies the city’s first optical shop, formerly Optique Meyer, today called Atol. Over 15 years ago, Arnaud Edorh Tossa, François Fossard, and Pauline Batot formed a trio of opticians. “What sets us apart is our human approach. Each customer is unique; to each face the perfect frames, and we have glasses and contacts for every look,” says Arnaud. The business was bought in 2008 by Yannick Leroyer, who owns multiple spectacle factories in Normandy. Though part of the Atol franchise, the shop can still claim a certain independence. “We choose our brands and models: Chanel, Tom Ford, Dior, and best-kept secrets like Jean-Philippe Joly.” Benefit from contact lens fitting, eyesight exams, and ActiVisu, a precision tool that crafts ultra-personalized varifocal lenses. “Our goal is for you to leave happy. And that you come back to see us!”
