The Mont Saint Michel Bay

Sacha Traversées

Feel the stand in your toes, listen to the wind in the saltmarshes: Sacha Martinache gives bespoke tours year-round of the Mont Saint-Michel Bay. “I grew up in the heart of the bay, and I always knew I wanted to work here,” says Sacha, 29. With his dilpoma as a tour guide, he launched his business in 2024, determined to show people another side of the Bay, far from standard tour itineraries. This year, Sacha is offering a new departure in a private field at the Roche-Torin, steps from his parents’ farm and a friend’s sheepfold. “You can easily park here and reach areas invisible from the Mont. I can also bring you to visit the sheepfold.” Sacha prefers real crossings to reach the Mont instead of quick trips around the small island: “To cross the bay is to walk the path of the pilgrims, listen to the birds, and wonder,” he says. His tours are sensory and historical journeys into flora, fauna, and heritage, and Sacha is already preparing new full-day tours of the Bay off the beaten track. ome to be captivated by the art, and leave with a piece of magical artistry.
