Just outside Deauville, the Château & Jardins de Boutemont is reinventing itself led by Johanna Wistrøm-Monnier and her husband, Bruno, who since 2020 have been giving new life to the property. After admiring the cedar alley and the drawbridge, step inside and visit the lodge, gothic drawing room, and gallery, home to Achille Duchêne’s projects, creator of the early 20th-century gardens. Pass by the tranquil reflecting pool that mirrors the silhouette of the château. Boxwood topiary and flowering apple trees dot the path on your way to the crêperie and teahouse. This year, the château has become home to a meditation labyrinth facing east, aligned with the stars for the fall equinox. “These labyrinths have been linking Man to the cosmos around the world for over 5,000 years,” says Johanna. In this labyrinth, you don’t get lost; you find yourself! At the Château de Boutemont, discover your path between history, nature, and beauty, and stop at the boutique to take a piece home with you.
